Why is Seattle yard work so expensive?

Why is Seattle landscaping service so expensive the past year?

I got quotes for basic yard clean up and it is $1,000 for  8hrs of work. I got three quotes all around the same price.

Each one quoted $75 to mow each time twice a month and it takes under 30mins.  This is equaling over $100/hr for lawn service.

Yard workers are now charging more than skilled craftsman such as plumbers and electricians.

I just do not have time to do it myself since I am busy with day job and family.

What is going on? My guess is all the techies do not know how or want to mow so they are paying this high rate?

can anyone recommend some quality affordable yard workers in Seattle?

Thanks

My guess is an unintended consequence from policies like $15/hr minimum wage. You get localized inflation for the price of goods and services.

I pay my lawn guy $20 a trip to my house. I don't have a huge yard but I'd say he's here 30 min. And that's San Diego.
