Duplex hunting in Austin

Hey all!

I am new to BP and new to REI. I currently rent in East Austin and am looking into buying my first property. Originally I was looking to purchase a SFR that I could put some sweat equity into and rent out at some future point but lately have been contemplating a duplex in order to house hack.

I have been combing through the forums and information on BP but would love any advice or suggestions for additional research I should perform. I like to be as informed as possible with my decisions and since this will be the most financially significant purchase of my life (to date) I definitely want to make sure I perform my due dilligence.

Thanks in advance!

Best,

Josh
