tub replacement question
Good morning,
One of my tenants reported a leaking tub and mold on the wall and floor in the closet which I assume is next to the bathroom. The tub is cast iron, the area around the drain metal piece got rusty, as well as the area around the overflow metal piece (i don't know the names of those parts).
My property manager's plumber recommends replacing the tub and gave a 2500-3k quote. This is very high in my opinion, we just bought the property last Nov, haven't really made much profit to cover a hefty cost like this.
I found a tub repair company. But if I wanted them to give me a quote, does my property manager have to meet the contractor at the property and deal with them, or us?
We never worked with a property management company before, and not sure about the protocol in this situation.
Any suggestions/feedback would be appreciated.

Hey @Zoe Lee,
If the tub doesnt have any cracks its possible remove the rust around the drain, seal the area, and use a new gasket or plumbers putty to seal the drain back down. Make sure though there aren't any hidden leaks below the tub. Overflow gaskets can be replaced as well.
As far is the mold goes if its in dry way you might need to replace the damaged sections it its just mold on tile or surrounds they make some products for fast remediation.
