Thoughts on my plan? VA Loan - MFH
Hey all! I've connected with some of the SA folks here but I'm still only a few weeks into this. I've listened to quite a few podcasts, begun to learn a lot about REI and really hope to make a purchase next year. My lease runs out June 1st and I was thinking of house-hacking a MFH as my first investment property. I've been given my COE (certificate of eligibility) for my VA loan so I won't have to put any (much) money down which will be great so I can save my money for potential rehab that may need to be done. However, my issue is I've been on redfin for the past few weeks just looking at potential MFH and it doesn't seem like there are many that go on market here in SA. I'd prefer a MFH over a SFH as I know house-hacking can be an easy way to start in REI. Any thoughts on my plan? Obviously I have a lot to learn until next spring but I just wanted to get some others opinions. Thanks!

I don't find many small multis here that make sense for me. The ones I have found were grossly overpriced. I would encourage you to keep looking for them. SFR is an option with another one in a year or so with VA loan. My understanding is that your VA benefits max out at a total amount of money- even if spent on multiple properties. Just one more strategy to cosnider.
Good luck!
