Flipping In a 100 year flood zone

Can someone help me understand for a flip in a 100 year flood plain if I need to elevate an existing property if I plan on adding an extension? What can I do to get around having to elevate the existing structure?

Details on flip:

-1500 sq ft property

-Full interior remodel

-500 sq ft addition
