New to Houston, Want Buy and Hold
Hello BP,
I am going to be moving to the Houston area in the next 6-8 months and I am interested in starting out my Real Estate Investing. I am interested in buy and hold properties. What I am thinking is buying a SFH to live in when I move down there. Live in it for about a year, all the while doing some rehab projects to increase value and rental value. Then after a year move to a new place and start to rent out the original SFH.
I currently live in California and do not know too much about the Houston area. I am hoping to get in touch with some people who know the area and where would be a good place to look for this first home buy. About ten years ago I had family living in League City and I remembered that area to be rather nice. Would this be a good spot to start out? I want to know how the rental market in League City is, or any advice on what area to look for a buy and hold rental property.
Thanks in advance,
Brian
