Hello all! I recently purchased a duplex in Old Brooklyn thanks to Matt Motil and I am excited about adding to my portfolio. Just wanted to drop in and say hello to everybody!
I really like the BRRRR concept and have been scouring all of my deal sources for 2 - 4 units properties including emails I receive from a few providers and hope to find another that fits soon. I also am interested in 5+ units where I can add some value.
I am looking to invest in larger multifamily units in East Cleveland near the clinic within zip code 44112. Many posts refer to this area as a war zone. Should I avoid this area?
100%, unless you are feeling very risky. The area near the Cleveland Clinic in University Circle is amazing and has really turned around in the last 2 years. They are redeveloping a lot. However, the actual city of East Cleveland is not a really good city. They cannot even afford simple city services anymore. The city of Cleveland near the clinic is nice, the city of East Cleveland is NOT.

Hello and welcome to BP! Cleveland is a great place to start investing. Nice choice in Old Brooklyn as well. Seems like a good area to get a decent ROI.
Welcome to the Cleveland real estate investment scene! It's a great city to invest in, with a wide variety of property types, pretty big range of price points and good ROI. I hope your Old Brooklyn duplex performs well for you!

I am looking in the vicinity of Terrace Road and Forest Hills Blvd. Is this area considered University Circle? Google maps shows it is very close to the clinic. Is this an undeserible area?

@Robert Antinoro East Cleveland is going to present investors with some unique challenges that aren't as prevalent as in the higher priced neighborhoods. Unless you have experience with these sort of investments, I'd recommend you tread cautiously.
