Need A Popcorn Ceiling Removal Pro In LA

Xavier Brinkman
Posted

Hey guys, the popcorn ceiling in my place has been painted over and is hard as a rock, I can't do it myself (found that out the hard way) and am now looking to hire someone to get it done. The place is in Inglewood, if anyone has any recommendations it'd be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Sounds like it is a textured plaster ceiling and not drywall with standard acoustic (popcorn) so it will not scrape off. You have two choices, demo the entire lid and add new drywall or get a good drywall crew to skim coat the entire ceiling. If you have recessed lights, they will need to be adjusted down a tad to allow for the thickness of the new skim coat if you elect that method.

Inglewood is a bit out of my coverage area otherwise I could help you with it as I am a licensed contractor here in N Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas).
