Carpet advice for sunroom
Hi all,
I'm prepping my house for sale, doing cosmetics (paint, flooring). It's a SFR in Virginia, price range $450-500k. It has a nice, big sunroom add-on and when I bought it a few years back, that room had new berber carpet. Nothing fancy, but I liked it. That carpet has to be replaced now and the few carpet people I spoke with all told me to keep it simple and just use the same carpet I'm planning to use in the bedrooms (Shaw Full Court) - it's your regular, neutral carpet that may be a step above builder grade, but that's about it. It's a relatively short-pile carpet, but not as short a berber. I'm tempted to trust them, but something just doesn't sit right with me - I'm so used to having the berber in that room that it's hard for me to imagine anything else. I was told that berber is out. So... should I just go with the recommendations, especially since I'm not doing it for myself, or are there better/more appealing carpet options for that room? And yes, I'm pretty set on carpet, even though I wouldn't want a square inch of it in my own home.
Thank you! Pic of sunroom with original berber below:

Since you are not doing it for yourself, I would just stick with the carpet the installers are recommending. I agree that I haven't seen a berber carpet in an updated house in a while.
I know you said you are sold on carpet, but I'm seeing carpet in living areas becoming a deal breaker to my younger buyers. I've had several clients recently tell me that they won't consider a house that doesn't have solid surface flooring in common areas. Most of the time you can get a vinyl plank for about the same price as carpet and it's definitely more well received.
If you do stick with carpet, I'd go with exactly what the carpet installers are suggesting. Affordable, neutral carpet. Carpet is very much a dividing argument right now, but people that don't mind carpet aren't going to be picky as long as it's new and neutral.
