Traveling with tools - suggestions for "luggage"
I bought a rental property 1,000 miles away and need to go do some "fixer upper" work. Just miner projects. I'm contracting out the big stuff this time. But I will need to travel (by air) to the home to do some work that I don't want to outsource. I'm planning on taking the basic tools only, nothing too big. Cordless drill, hand tools, etc.
I travel a lot for work, so I'm familiar with what can/cannot be checked and the baggage size/weight restrictions
My question has more to do with suggestions for the type of "baggage" to use. For those of you who have done this, did you just use a suitcase? Travel tool box which would be more practical but weigh more? Just ship them to your destination? I can be without the tools for a week before/after the trip so FedEx is a viable option.

I would honestly ship them. I've done it with clothes coming back from vacation and it was fine.
Your other option would be to get some cheap stuff there. You'll probably end up needing something you forgot anyway.
