I had a "Think and Grow Rich" experience today

For those of you who have read 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill, you know that success is a state of mind. What you fill your mind with is what you get! As I have been getting closer to real estate investing becoming a reality, it has been all I think about. I need to build a team, and that has been at the forefront of my mind. Today I went out to look at some properties; some on the MLS, and some from a wholesaler list. As I was out kicking the foundation of property #3, a guy driving by in a van sticks his head out the window and says, "Ya, you might be able to make some money on that one". He ends up parking and we talk for a couple minutes. Turns out he's a contractor who works with investors on flips and has been in the game for 20+ years. He is kind enough to let me follow him across town to a house he's rehabbing for an investor so I can check out his work. He had done it all on this project including a room addition, a front porch addition, and turning the 2 car garage in the back into a 1 car garage with an attached porch. His work looked great. He said he would come check out deals with me and go through them with a fine tooth comb to get me accurate estimates on rehab costs.

And just like that, I found a potentially great partner to help me learn as I grow in this business.  It's a small step, but a very satisfying one, and all it took was getting out there in the mix.

Cheers!
