Investing. Where and how to start for beginners. I need help.

I really want to start investing, but I have absolutely no idea where to start. I've listened to podcast, done some "research", and read some books, but still the concept of investing is completely foreign to me. I live in a small town in West Texas (Yeehaw..no really) but I don't know where to start. So far I have an app called Acorns, it sort of helps me invest in different business. Its meant to be long term so I think I've only made $30 in a few months or so. But I still do not know what's going to. I'm 26 and think it's time I start investing or at least understand that way it can help pave a path for my savings and eventually my financial freedom.

Any advice or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

No really, please help! =)
