How's your IKEA kitchen holding up?

Hi all,

I know a lot of people have used IKEA kitchen for flips and rentals over the last couple of years.  For those that have, how are they holding up 1-2 years later?  Especially if they are in a rental, I'd love to hear your experience!

Sarah D.  I did an IKEA kitchen in a rental.  Still on year 1 so sorry I can't give input regarding longevity.  However, the big plus for me was the 25 year warranty with the ability to take damaged doors/drawers, for 'free, no questions asked' replacements.  They introduced the new line this year. (They had the previous cabinetry line for 25 yrs).  Off-white shaker style known as being timeless, as the chances are good I won't be updating this kitchen again in my lifetime.

Installed properly, they show nicely.

About 6yrs ago, we created an island out of the higher end IKEA cabinets including 2 (3ft?) wide pot storage drawers. It has held up very well including the soft close mechanism and is very easy to clean.

We also used their butcher block counter top, which I don't believe they sell anymore.

I used an Ikea kitchen on one of our flips and they were significantly cheaper then Home Depot or anyone else i was able to get pricing from.  I also felt as though they were much better quality then bottom of the barrel at HD.  No input on how they hold up long term though.

Put one in almost 1.5 years ago. It's still like-new despite a lot of usage.

The hardware is superior to comparably-priced competitors lines, though the boxes are particle board (the fronts vary in materials). That said - they are well built, very easy to install, and look good. While they don't have the custom-sizes that a higher-priced line would, they have enough variety, and have enough options for most people. In particular - their drawer options (sizes, stacking, and inserts) are great. And of course, they make everything to fit (jars, racks etc).
