Crack in basement wall

Good afternoon everyone -

Inspected a house that I'm putting in an offer on, and inspectors main worry was a large floor-to-ceiling crack in basement wall. The inspector mentioned to 'monitor it and if it gets any larger get it inspected'. No visible moisture around it. Does anyone have experience what could happen ? Lets say it continues getting larger is potential solution to brace is to brace it?

You can see there was a beam at some point next to the wall. I am planning to get a contractor to look at it once I'm able to (after closing)

Thank you, o/
