Flipping in the Tri-State Area
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone is starting out trying to do their first flip in the tristate area, Philadelphia, basically anywhere drivable from NY? I'm interested in seeing how people decide on these areas for their first flip and if it's a good idea to pursue it or should I just give up and start looking somewhere like Florida or the Midwest instead?

Hi @Gina Jurlando, I'm based in NYC, too. More focused on buy and hold, but happy to share the areas where I'm looking.
Will depend on how much you're looking to invest. I have a friend who's working on flips in central Jersey, they have ARVs of $500k+. There are opportunities, if you can play at that level.
Less expensively, you can look at Danbury, CT; Albany, NY; Dutchess county; northern Westchester.
I'm also considering the Berkshires and Eastern CT. Both about 3hrs away.
I wouldn't do flips in FL or the Midwest, unless I had a SOLID partner. You have to be able to "pop-in" at least once per week.
