Multitasking Painter?

I was driving by an apartment complex this afternoon and while waiting for the traffic light to turn green I noticed a guy painting the exterior wall of the apartment with a roller.

What really caught my eyes was he outfitted himself with some contraption.  He has some sort of a figure 8 shaped gadget, one end of it he clamps onto his upper arm, so it looks like he has a "cup holder" thing attached to his upper arm.  When he takes a break he pointed the roller up and sits the other end of the extension pole on the ground, and he pushed the pole inside this cup holder thing, so it won't tip over...while he smoked a cigarette in one hand and worked his mobile phone with the other hand.

Then I noticed he walked funny, dragging his feet.  Turned out he has a strap around his ankle, tethered to it a rope, which is tied to a paint tray.  So as he walked he drags the paint tray with him.

Never seen someone smoking, texting, holding up a paint roller and pulling the paint tray at the same time.
