Using big box store installation vs finding your own contractor
I have used the installation teams from big box stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot for some projects for example, flooring, siding, and windows. I have used this route a few times in my remodels because I'm pretty confident I'm getting a by the book install. I've run into several problems with contractors in the past that may be cheaper but frustrating. Any thoughts or opinions on utilizing the services from big box stores?

Using big box stores will guarantee you getting the job done in a timely manner. Using contractors, no matter what experience they have, is always a tossup. They can walk away at any time, there is no customer service, and they could care less if you are left in a less than desirable position.
