There has been a lot of conversation among our legislators regarding tenant rights organizations pushing for rent abatement to help renters unable to pay rent. This is, at this very moment, being discussed in Springfield: Rep Delia Ramirez has introduced new legislation in favor of rent abatement and now she has support from Chicago Representatives and Senators. This, and similar bills being introduced, will not have a repayment option for landlords losing rent money. You can vote NO on the link below it is also very important to call your representatives and voice your opinions.
