anyone with sacramento courthouse auction experience please share
Howdy!
Wondering if anyone been to sac courthouse sale to bid on a foreclosure auction, I am interested in a property going on sale in my neighborhood, looking to learn from your experience, in particular how to determine if property does not have several other mortgage / lien against it, and if it is even possible to get a deal in this hot market.

Hey @Brad S.,
Are you interested in foreclosure auctions or tax deed auctions? They're two totally different things.
The foreclosure auctions (trustee sales) are the ones held almost every weekday outside the Sacramento County courthouse.
The tax deed auction (which is what Derek's link is for) is held 1-2 times per year (not at the courthouse) and is where the county auctions off properties that are delinquent (5 or more years) on their property taxes.
The two are quite different and most people would advise against either for the beginning investor, so make sure you do your research. I just wanted to make sure you were researching the right type of auction though.
Best of luck to you.
