Pension or rental property

I’m 43 years old and currently working for a state government agency but would like to pursue real estate investing and quit my government job.

I can either purchase 10 years for $130k and I would be able to quit my job next year but wouldn’t be able to begin collecting my pension until I’m 50 years old. My monthly pension would be about $2k a month.

Or, use that $130 k towards real estate (like BRRR) or short term rentals.

I would like to get some feedback and input.

I would really appreciate it!

Had a guy doing part-time work for me that had the same epiphany of sorts. He realized that he didn't have enough to retire on & as an aging contractor his company was starting to lay him off over the winters. So he approached me about picking up some of our C-class rentals. He now owns 7, his kids 6 more between them & they run them without a hitch & we hold ALL THE NOTES. He was badly injured at work last Dec 2019 so at 52 he can now live off the rents as his company let him go.

So just do it!!!
