I must admit that I haven't read a book since Richard Nixon was in the White House... No,I wasn't traumatized by "All the President Men", It's just that my A.D.D makes it impossible. I read movie and television scripts for a living ( I have to break them down to shooting elements and put them in a shooting schedule format). I hate that part of it. I get lots of info from the internet, news television and weekly magazines.
Eddie,
Try getting some light blue transparent cellophane and put it directly on top of the page and try reading the words through it. No joke - I used this with a student about 7 or 8 years ago.
Black letters on white paper is very hard for the human eye and near impossible if anything in the thought process has a tendency to put words out of order.

Interesting idea. I'll give it a shot. If not for the reading at least for the experiment...
I've read many inspirational books, but the two that stand out the most are "Who moved my Cheese" and definitely "Serving Two Masters? Reflections on God and Profit" by C. William Pollard which has been very inciteful concerning what's really important to me within the business realm which is to honor God in everything I do, thereby growing profitably is a means goal, and operating within a context of honoring God is an end goal, equates into how I operate on an ethical basis, which equates to how I treat those that I do business with.

Sorry, after that I got tired head and quit counting. However, I don't think any others came too close to #3.
Honorable mention goes to The Richest Man in Babylon, Secrets of The Millionare Mind, Four Hour Work Week, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and probably others that I didn't count properly.
I've always told myself to not bother with RD PD because of all the criticism I've heard. However, after looking through this thread, I think I've changed my mind and will read all of the top three.
I love what reading has done for me...in my toastmasters group today one of our people gave a great speech on the topic. She reminded me of how reading gives you a fuller experience in life because you can see the world through eyes of many different, and sometimes great people.
So, here are some my favorites in the category of inspiration:
1) Awaken the Giant Within, Tony Robbins
2) The 4-Hour Workweek, Timothy Ferriss
3) The Answer, John Assaraf & Murray Smith
All three of these books moved me into action in some way or another.
Not really a real estate book per say, but highly influential on my habits and approach to business. This should be a must read for any of the above 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' readers who want to escape the rat race.
The most inspiring book that I have ever read is Think and grow rich by napoleon hill. He tells you how to go about getting the riches you want by psychology and he wrote the book under inspiration from andrew carnegie.
3 way tie between that one "Think and Grow Rich", "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, and "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. All definitely inspiring to me.
I would have to say it was "The Pursuit of Happyness". This is actually the book that inspired the movie with Will Smith. The movie was only a few chapters of it. Very inspirational. If you liked the movie than you will love the book even more.
I am inspired by books that seek to solve the great problems of poverty and economy. I have recently been inspired by Development as Freedom by Amartya Sen, and The Way the World Works by Jude Wanninski (I think that is how you spell his name). These are two very different books from differing ideologies of economy but both basically discussing development.
