@Nicholas Owens No, but my insurance company requires it be replaced immediately. So be sure to check with your prospective insurance provider.

Depending on how much there is and where will affect the cost to get rid of it.

I’ve had random individual pieces of K&T show up where there’s no other indication of anymore any where in the building.

When I was a newbie the inspection in a 6500Sq ft house showed K&T in the attic and because I didn’t know better I trusted when the electrician told me the whole house had to be rewired. Cost me about $20,000 for a job that should have taken about 4 hours and $500.

So also be sure to get several estimates from electricians. Don’t just go with the first.
