Future house hack for an unfinished basement
I'm about to start building a new house and leaving the basement unfinished right now so I can do a house hack in the future (maybe summer 2021). Are there any things anyone would recommend I do now during the initial construction to make the future basement rental better? As an example I'm doing a walk out basement door, an extra parking pad, a door at the bottom of the steps that lead from the main floor to the basement

I would make sure all of the utilities are in one corner of the basement so you can easily hide them or include them in a storage room. Rough ins for all of your water and bathroom needs. Egress windows in the bedrooms.
I would also design how you would lay out the basement during your initial construction, so you don't run into an issues that could have easily been fixed at this stage.
