House Hack in Dallas, TX. Neighborhoods?
Hey BP! I'm a recent college grad and moved to Dallas, TX about 6 months ago and looking to house hack in the DFW area. I've been looking in North Dallas, North Oak Cliff, and some neighborhoods in Arlington but are there any other places I should consider? Also, looking to buy in the first half of 2020 if that helps!
Thank you!

@Andrew Ajewole to me it would depend on what TYPE of house hack you would like to do. Meaning, if you are trying to find a duplex, triplex, or quad....you will have very limited options. So just finding ANY property along those lines would be more important than location. Garland is a great recommendation here. Currently about 30 2-4 unit properties to choose from. Most start around $300,000 and go up to $1,000,000 though. Don't get me wrong, other large metros will have hundreds of listings...but in Texas, land is so cheap we don't build as many multi-family properties as a San Francisco, Washington DC, NYC, etc. Because land is expensive there, they HAVE to make all properties multi-family. Here, quite different. So 30 is a great sample size. Certainly rely on a real estate agent to help you with your search. When you buy a property, you don't pay for the real estate agent....the seller of the home pays for him/her. Certainly an incentive to use one and it sounds like you may already have a good one to lean on. Hope this helps!
