Providence realtors / this old house

Sean Mobb
Posted

Hi all,

I'm a newbie looking to invest in a multi-family in the Providence area. Any recommendations for real estate agents with good neighborhood knowledge?

Also, I'm a little scared of all the 1800s houses, has anyone had any horror stories, or are they holding up pretty well? I am comfortable putting in some sweat equity, but don't want to get in too far over my head!

Thanks,

Sean

Sean, Anthony is spot on about the Knob & Tube wiring. One way around it from an insurance standpoint, if you are doing renovations, is to use a Renovation Builders Risk policy. They are generally less concerned about the wiring if you are doing the rewire as part of the reno. That can bridge you through the reno and then you can insure it normally after since you will have replaced the wiring.
