Charlotte vs Raleigh-Durham area

My wife may have an opportunity to take a promotion to one either Charlotte or the Raleigh-Durham area and we're trying to do as much research and consider all factors into what may be the best decision.  Does anybody have any information on the real estate investing, cost of living, life in general, etc?  Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks.

@Robert Fisher Asking people to choose between Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham might be somewhat akin to asking folks in the Triangle if Duke, UNC, or NC State is better to root for....or what is the best school in the neighborhood....very subjective and personal. The good news is that you are looking at two great choices, but they'll have really different experiences.
