Customary referral fees in Massachusetts

Hello,

I have some information about a family that is planning to sell in the near future. I also have passed along such information in the past leading to a sale. This time I would like to be compensated, especially since we have such low inventory for single family homes. I am not a real estate agent, but have taken the course for my own information. I know that people are paid for referrals, but I don't know how much. I would love to hear some numbers. We are in southeastern Massachusetts. Thank you.
