Maryland Real Estate Learning Groups

Hello, my name is Calvin, and I am new to the real estate scene. I am very eager to learn everything that I can, so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for any real estate groups that meet in the Maryland or D.C area? I am really interested in wholesaling, but as a beginner I am open to any knowledge. Any feedback would be great. Thanks !

Hi Calvin -- There are tons of real estate groups in the DMV area. My personal favorite is Deals Meet Up at Harborside Hotel in Oxon Hill. They meet the first Wednesday of every month and the majority of the meeting are investors pitching deals. It is good for newbies in that the person that runs the meeting takes time to break down each pitch and attendees can ask questions. Traction REIA is run out of Virginia and has won various national REIA awards, Tom Zeeb, runs that REIA. Southern Maryland Real Estate Investors is run out of La Plata. There are also groups that focus on Baltimore. I am sure there are many more. For what it's worth, there are a few REIAs that focus on trying to sell you a program or method from some Guru. I suggest you leave your credit card in your pocket and talk to the many people who will be sitting and standing near you. Just like here on Bigger Pockets, many of us who've been doing this awhile are happy to answer questions and help when we can. Best, Teresa
