Looking forward to 2018

2018 is going to be an amazing year! I have already started a list of goals I want to achieve and things I want to get accomplished. I have asked my friends what their goals are and I am excited by some of the answers I hear. While 2017 was my most successful year yet, there are some major things I want to shift going into 2018 to set myself up for future success on a larger scale.

  • 1.Gratitude

Have you ever noticed how hard it is to be stressed out when you are grateful for something? Likewise, if you are angry it is difficult to see the good in anything. Tony Robbins calls this living in either a beautiful state or a state of suffering. When we shift our mind to be grateful for something it allows us to live in a beautiful state instead of the constant suffering of stress, anger or fear. To help myself live in a beautiful state this coming year I am going to change my morning routine. I am going to start a gratefulness book. Every morning I will write three different things that I am grateful for. These can be a simple thing like a fresh morning smell or maybe a favorite song. The idea is to get your mind in a good place right from the start and to continue in a beautiful state throughout the day.

  • 2.Giving

A trap I fall into sometimes is what a lot of people call a scarcity mindset. A scarcity mindset is when you are scared to let go of something for fear that it will not return. Instead of being stuck in a scarcity mindset it is better to shift into an abundance mindset. When you are living with an abundance mindset, you are not afraid to give what you have because you know that it will return to you. Sometimes it is hard to think this way when it comes to money, but I realized that if I don’t give a dime for every dollar now, what makes me think I will do it when I am making more income? Starting in November I decided that I would give 10% of my income to whatever good causes I choose, and I am looking forward to eventually making a big impact this way.

  • 3.Growth

If you aren’t growing then you are deteriorating. This year one of my main focuses will be on continual growth. One way I will do this is through self-education. I plan to read a minimum of 36 books this year to build my knowledge base in my chosen areas of focus (real estate, business, etc.) What it all boils down to ultimately is making a commitment to consistent action. If I am taking small steps of positive action every single day, I will be growing continually on both a business and personal level.

What big goals are you looking to accomplish in 2018?

What can you look back on in 2017 and be grateful for or learn from?
