Hi! Long time music producer and dj who has spent the past year really diving into REI. I've been fortunate enough to support myself from making and playing music now for a good number of years but the older I get the more I realize I would like something a little more "stable". It's tough because music in general has become so devalued and disposable nowadays. Combine that with the music industry which seems to keep changing every 6 months and it makes for one hell of a ride. Exciting sure, financially stable and something I want to put all my eggs in one basket in...not so much.

I love how real estate really is about the numbers, the deal so to speak. Sure you can't account for every little thing and eliminate risk completely but you know a lot more going into it then you usually do with music. You might spend 3 months on a song only to realize when it comes out that no one really cares. Data within the music industry is helping inform what songs to release and where to tour but it still has a ways to go. What makes a song or artist popular nowadays has less to do with the actual music than ever before. So much is subjective and/or up to chance within the industry, I really appreciate that REI is not that. Anyway just seeing if there are any others like me out there! Thanks!
