Meetups in Champaign-Urbana & Savoy?

Question

Hey everyone!

So there's probably some meetups already going on within the Champaign-Urbana and Savoy area (if I'm missing one, please let me know) but I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in a casual meetup (maybe once a month?) at like Starbucks or something to discuss real estate and just hang out. I think it'd be fun and no membership or anything would be needed. Please let me know if this is something you all might be interested in!

@John Hagen and @Chang Hee Lee I run the meetup the Chambana Investors group and we've got a good number of attendees coming for Tuesdays meeting so you can meet some other folks. There is another one on Thursday as well this month that meets at the Champaign Library. Lastly, there is CIRPP - google that one as its not on meetup. This is a much more formal meeting and where the really active industry members go. They have apartment owners, wholesalers, lots of property managers, lenders, and some other vendors that usually attend.

If you're willing to drive further Bloomington and Decatur have meetups to. I usually attend the Bloomington one.

The next Chambana meeting is on Tuesday at Perkins in Urbana at 5:45pm. There is an attorney who will be speaking on landlord/tenant law. You can find the group on Facebook and Meetup.

@Chang Hee Lee I'm not a member I'm from Mattoon and invest around Casey and Robinson. However I am interested in hitting up a few meeting when my schedule permits. I like your idea for a more casual thing just a few investors hanging out and talking over coffee or beer.

@Steven J. I also work part-time at the Panda Express on University in Urbana and wonder if that might be a possibility for the future meetups? Not sure if Perkins is the usual meetup spot but just thought I might throw that out there since I can get everyone a discount and the seating environment is pretty nice!

I wish I could bit far for me...  SIde note I am an Illini at heart so if I ever get up that way Ill let you know.  I havent been to campus in a few years though so it might be a bit.
