Summer Rental Demand
Hi all,
Long time reader, first time poster. I’m a Northerner, looking for a vacation home/rental property in Florida. I plan to occupy it from Jan-March and then rent it out the rest of the year. If I could at least cover the mortgage in the other 9 months of the year I’d be happy.
My question is if there is demand for STRs in Florida still in the summer months? As I’ve been searching my gut is telling me Orlando/Kissimmee fits the bill as the proximity to the theme parks creates year round demand for STRs. But I wouldn’t think areas like Ft Myers or Naples or Tampa or Southeast Florida would have much rentability in the summer as the winter is when people from up north look to rent vacations in Florida. I just can’t imagine I’d get much interest trying to rent a place in Naples in July for example. Hoping someone tells me I’m wrong!
Thanks,
Will
