Florida homestead legal question

As I understand there are two different kinds of homesteads in Florida.

One would be having your main residence safe from lawsuits, and another would be related would be related to property tax savings.

If a house has an in-law suit with a separate entrance and separate electric/water meters can the owner take the advantage of both homesteads for the 100% of the house?
