Hello BP!
Brand new to the game, no personal experience in REI, however I was asked to design online marketing for a close family friend who over about 15 years has acquired 16 rental properties while working 40 hrs a week. He has offered to mentor me through the beginning stages as far as what to look for with respect to rehabbing/pricing a rehab if that is the route I take. I came to BP and was excited to see all of the information/advice/forums...this is a great site! I'll be using it a lot and I'd like to thank you up front for any advice/posts. Hopefully, soon I'll be able to return the favor to newbies.
Right now I'm getting everything together so when I make an offer, whether it be with my money, lender, or contract, I'll be ready to take action and sell/rent the property as soon as possible. So I made a checklist of things I need to get done...and I'm left with a few questions...
1. Where would you recommend finding names and numbers for your buyer's list?
2. Realtor.com seems to be a great place to find properties, as well as important information about the area etc., but do you always buy from an agent? If not, or never, how do you find the properties? (I know craigslist and maybe a couple other sites)
3. I'm very interested in wholesaling, but I'd like to learn more about the whole process. Does anyone have a recommendation where I can learn everything about the wholesale process?
And any books, podcasts, audiotapes etc. that anybody would recommend would be great and much appreciated!
Thanks guys,
Greg
