Hello from Germany!
Greetings BP forums!
My name is Charlie, I'm currently living overseas in Germany. I was originally stationed over here in the Army a few years ago (2004) and separated a year ago into a civilian job with the government. It's been a bit of a transition for me but my now 1-year old son was good motivation for me to get out and become a family man.
I'm looking to use my VA loan to get into a 4-plex in Texas (San Antonio) mainly because of the very reasonable entrance cost into the market compared to my native California. Secondly I can still get a decent government job and my wife can go to school.
I've been combing the MLS and other forums posts and have gathered that eastern SA seems to be less desirable than the west. My friend owns a SFH in the NW side and really loves the neighborhoods there. I'm focusing on buy-and-hold deals after my initial VA entitlements are exhausted.
Apologies on the long-winded first post! I look forward to getting to know more folks here and sharing my future deals. Thanks for reading!
~Charlie
