Life Advice on Real Estate
Hello all,
Currently, as I am sure many like me are in a precarious situation in life due to our global pandemic. Recently, I found the Biggerpockets community, which has been instrumental for me, and for that, I want to preface this by saying thank you to the community and the person reading this.
Before the pandemic, I was an actor pursuing my dreams, living in LA, and going on auditions. Acting is and was the true love and passion in my life that has been hard to shake. Full disclosure, I was very motivated to get ahead in my acting career. For example, I would sneak into every major entertainment function, Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, etc. just for the opportunity to meet someone who could help me even though I know I could get in big trouble, but was hungry to succeed. At the time, I did anything to improve myself as an actor and just have a chance, but Inevitably, covid struck and everything stopped. I lost my jobs, I had three at the time, my agent dropped me because of how little work there was and is, and had to move back with my parents in San Diego. My dreams were crushed. Being in my 20's and a very motivated and passionate individual I wanted more from life than the hurry up and wait feeling that acting gave me. A friend of mine from college reached out and mentioned, I should give real estate a try. He currently works for a large commercial real estate firm in NYC as an analyst. I googled free ways to learn about real estate, and then I found bigger pockets. There's a lot more to the story but to save time, I'll cut it here.
I have listened to almost every podcast from bigger pockets and read most of their books, which have all intrigued me. At this point, I just don't know what to do? I have applied for several real estate firms ranging from commercial to residential. I simply want to learn more and begin to own my own assets. If anyone can give me advice on this subject I would more than appreciate you and your time.
Thanks again
