New Investor in the Baltimore area!

Hello fellow BiggerPocket'ers!

First off, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on these forms! In a short period of time, I've learned so much and am much more confident to stat my real estate adventure!

I have been through the buying process twice - first with my house that's now a rental in Arlington, VA and now the home I live in, near Columbia, Maryland. Since buying these homes, I've had a fascination with following the real estate market to watch the trends over the years, so when some friend introduced me to the BRRRR method, it caught my eyes and gave me a way to pursue real estate further.

My initial plan is to buy 3-5 rental properties in the next four years. My husband retires from the Army then and we plan to travel the world in our Jeep. We'll have his pension, but we'd love another form of income so that we can fully experience the world as we travel through it!

To accomplish this, I'm just starting to build my team! Currently I have a realtor and property management company that my friends recommended, but am in search of contractors, or anyone else that would be helpful in this journey, in the Baltimore area. In addition to that, I look forward to continuing to learn form you all through your experiences and incredible knowledge.

Feel free to share any and all information, whether it's related to Baltimore or not. I'd love your recommendations! Thank you in advance!

@Amanda Brezina

Welcome to BP. It sounds like you've gotten a good start doing your research!

If you're looking to invest in Baltimore city, I'd say definitely make sure you know the neighborhood. This has been said many times, but Baltimore is really block by block. This goes not just for when you're buying, but also when running comps for your ARV. You sometimes can't even look at one or two blocks over because it'll be a completely different ARV than the block your property is on.

Good luck on your journey. I'm excited to hear about your progress.
