Flip Vs Rental to build Capital

Joshua Hoffman
Posted

Hi everyone,

Just starting out and after a lot of reading and listening, I'm still trying to decide between flipping vs rentals to build capital to re-invest into more properties. I know a lot of it is circumstantial but I just wanted to hear from some vets on how they approached getting started and why. Thank you in advance for your input!

Replied

@Joshua Hoffman I started out by buying a duplex on OSU campus in Columbus OH. I lived in the property, rented it out to friends, and rehabbed it while I was there. I then rented the property out for much more, went to the bank and refinanced and cashed out! I was able to pay my rehab bill and have enough money for a down payment on my second place, and I still get a ton of rental income from that property!

I believe the BRRRR method allows you to

#1 make great untaxed money

#2 create passive income

#3 build long term wealth
