Hello everyone,
My name is Justin Foster, I'm 22, and I live up here in Alaska. I'm going to college, but I don't want to rely solely on getting a degree and working for other people. I've been interested in investing for a while now and I've finally decided to take an active role to make the preparations I need to invest.
Of the types of investing, real estate has always had this appeal to it that makes it stand out from other types. Since I keep thinking about it regardless of how many times people tell me that it's risky and hard to do, I feel that real estate has enough appeal to me that I can use to push through challenges that I'll face.
Every time I mentioned real estate to anyone around me, I got only warnings and negativity, especially considering my age. This has been the single greatest obstacle to my getting involved with investing. A few days ago I got fed up with the pessimism around me and started searching for information on getting into real estate at a young age and stumbled upon http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2013/02/09/how-to-start-investing-real-estate-young/ which addressed all the issues that I was facing.
After reading the article and checking out the ultimate beginner's guide that was linked on the same page, this website had me hooked. I'm really eager to learn more from everyone here and to take my first step into the world of real estate.
