Hello BP
I have stumbled upon BiggerPockets recently by chance and have been completely enthralled with what I have discovered. I have never been a part of a community driven forum such as this, so I am excited to see what happens and to see just how much I learn. I figured I will throw myself out there and see where I end up.
Quick Background:
I left high school, tried to go to college, had to leave college, and got stuck with a huge debt with no usable college experience, and was lost for a while on what to do. Eventually I got myself together, found a decent paying job, rapidly grew into well-paying job, and set all my focus on being debt-free. June 2020 I successfully paid off my $30,000+ debt in under 3 years completely by my own means. Now, at the age of 22, I began to ask myself "What's Next"?
Fast forward to about a week ago, where I found BiggerPockets Money Podcast. I listened to the first Podcast and knew instantly that Investing is where I wanted to go next. Everything that has been talked about on the Podcasts (guiltily have listened to over 12hrs of them in the last 2 days) made perfect sense to me and seemed totally achievable to me in some form. I started looking into the website, have already put in 20 hours of research and reading in the last week, and now here I sit taking a step I have never took before and becoming proactive.
Looking forward:
I am super excited to see what I can achieve in the near future. I am still new to the field but already have my eye out for a properties that fit the live-in flip criteria for profit or a house hack viable multi-family home with a guaranteed cash flow. BP has really helped me analyse and see the potential in real estate around me (and showed just how important it is to do the math to find the right deal). Although I am still building my savings for a down payment while still maintaining a safety net, I am eager to get started in REI within the next year. I am looking forward to connecting with new people and hope I can build lasting relationships even if I do not invest in real estate.
