Very long distance investing
I am retiring from the military in 18 months. I will have a little better than five months of paid leave giving me that time to build my portfolio in person. The plan is to move to North Carolina (Greensboro or Raleigh). Still evaluating between the two. But until that time comes, I would like to have acquired a couple of multi-family homes, 2 or 4-plex.
I tried, admittedly a little half-heartedly, a few years ago to get started, but its crunch time. I would hope in the sincerest of ways that I could find a mentor that is willing to have a regular chat to keep me on track. But I realize that kind of relationship is built not found. In the meantime, I would like to build the rest of my network, find some deals, and make a couple of dollars.
So, I say again, I'm starting in long-distance investing. I'm looking for recommendations, advice, and even a few deals.

@Scott Bell there are some great military real estate investor groups floating around that are full of people who can help with your specific scenario. I'd be happy to jump on an intro with you and answer questions if that would be of value.
