Rental Property Beginnings

Mario Moore
Posted

Good morning all,

I am currently serving in the military and I have possession of a VA Loan. I have a Real Estate "mentor" but we don't talk as often as I'd like to. He advised me to use my VA Loan to purchase a duplex/triplex, live in one and rent out the other(s). I was wondering if anyone could provide me with insight on how exactly this process would unfold.

Thank you!

Mario

What you described is a MFR "househack," @Mario Moore. There are plenty of resources here on BP that describes the process, how to analyze deals, and what to look for. Start with the BiggerPockets blog and then maybe check out The Househacking Strategy by Craig Curelop.
