Newbie From Dallas, Texas!

Hi, everyone!

My name is Ryan Cheatham and I am 24 years old living in Dallas, TX. I graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2019 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. Soon after I got a job in the corporate world as an electrical distribution engineer. After working for around 8 months now I have found myself unhappy with what this job provides me. Being an athlete in college I am a pretty competitive guy and with the corporate structure I don't like having a roof over my head and a person in charge of what I can and can not do. I also have always had dreams of being a wealthy person who does not have to worry that every single week my paycheck will hit or else I will be in a world of hurt. I would like to not only set myself up but my future family with enough of a living that is comfortable and a lifestyle that supports the things that I want to do.

I am completely new into real estate and the reason that I am here is through word of mouth of coworkers and family members. In the past when I would think of real estate I would automatically thing of the agency side of it, and that would completely turn me off of the idea of it. But after giving multiple BiggerPockets podcasts listens, looking through the website, and hearing people's success stories I am excited to at least learn as much as I can so that maybe in the near future I can make a decision that will change the rest of my life!

I would just like to say that I am excited for what I am going to learn through this website and I am more than happy to work with anyone in my area or take any mentoring that anyone is willing to offer. Nice to meet you all!
