New Investor - Los Angeles, CA

Hello BiggerPockets Community,

My name is Brian, currently located in Los Angeles, and I am interested in learning more about real estate. I have hopes of becoming an investor and would love to have some rental properties to provide some passive income while I continue my career as a pharmacist within the pharmaceutical industry. 

I don’t have much of a background in real estate but a friend recently suggested “Long-Distance Real Estate Investing” by David Greene and I was hooked! I knew I had to get engaged with the BiggerPockets community and have also recently started listening to the podcast. 

I’ve already found the forums very useful as I was interested in learning more about Roofstock and was able to find several informative posts detailing various user’s experiences. I’m looking forward to interacting with you all on the forums and hopefully a few people local to LA in person too. Will be scouring the forums for posts for advice for newbies but if anyone has any additional suggestions, I’m all ears!

The only one I go to, when I go to any, is the one run by @Jeff Greenberg in Santa Monica. 2nd Saturday of the month at The UnUrban Cafe (11am). It's super casual...everyone just goes around the room, introduces themselves, and then anyone can ask questions of the group. And good coffee to go along with it :)
