My name is Frankie and I live in the DFW area. I'm looking to find my first deal in NWI, specifically a multi-family unit in Hammond, IN.
A little bit of background: I work in corporate finance and have done that for multiple years; successfully managing receivables and budgets for large international companies. I'm currently working on completing my MBA. I love my job and what I do, but for as long as I can remember, I've wanted to invest in real estate. I'm not sure why, but I feel that real estate investment is my calling and it's how I'm going to leave my mark.
My first step is building a team, so recommendations from the community would be welcomed. I'm hoping to find people that I can bounce some ideas off of and I'm willing to trade budgeting and/or bookkeeping advice/assistance in exchange.

Hi @Frankie B. - welcome to BP. Great place to learn and make some connections. I have 2 dozen rentals in Hammond and would be happy to chat with you about the ins and outs of the city. Great returns there with the exodus of Illinois residents.
@Alejandro Calixto, I used to live in the south suburbs of Chicago and Munster, IN. I like NWI and I believe that Hammond fits into my investment strategy. I'm going to have a property manager; so I feel like I can do some long-distance investing.
@ Adrien S., I would like to get your insight. I've looked at a few properties so far. Trying to determine if I should stick with properties near Purdue Cal and/or Hessville or if I can go farther North....
