Introduction - Newbie Investor - NW Indiana and maybe DFW Texas

Hi BP Community,

My name is Frankie and I live in the DFW area. I'm looking to find my first deal in NWI, specifically a multi-family unit in Hammond, IN. 

A little bit of background: I work in corporate finance and have done that for multiple years; successfully managing receivables and budgets for large international companies. I'm currently working on completing my MBA.  I love my job and what I do, but for as long as I can remember, I've wanted to invest in real estate. I'm not sure why, but I feel that real estate investment is my calling and it's how I'm going to leave my mark. 

My first step is building a team, so recommendations from the community would be welcomed. I'm hoping to find people that I can bounce some ideas off of and I'm willing to trade budgeting and/or bookkeeping advice/assistance in exchange.
