Hello all,

I am Darrell and I am looking to start wholesaling in Chicago and some of the surrounding north and northwest suburbs.

I have a small amount of experience as an agent, but it was during the time when foreclosure and short sales were taking forever to even be looked at. Not like today where I see them go on the market and off again in like a week. So needless to say I couldn't get enough sales to the closing table fast enough to actually make a decent income. So I left the company with 12 contracts on the table that were all waiting 1-3 months already to hear back from the banks.

I came here first to look into learning how to buy houses and then fix them up and resell them, but after reading some posts and blogs here I have changed to wanting to wholesale, at least for now. I figure if I wholesale for a year or so and get myself a nice piece of change in the bank to back my future flips I would be in a better situation. On top of that while wholesaling I'll learn a lot about actually finding good deals on houses and figuring out what a property is worth and how much it would be worth after rehabs.

Also it looks like I may be able to find some nice people to work with here. I've seen investors and other wholesalers here so I hope to network with others and maybe find some mentors and future partners on top of the wealth of knowledge that's on the site.

So that's my background and goals, if anyone has any suggestions comments or and guidance they can offer me, all will be welcomed.
