Aspiring Investor from Los Angeles, CA
Hi Everyone!
I have been interested in Real Estate for sometime now but only recently have I decided on acting on my passion for it. I have started to read the books and listen to the podcasts and the more I do the more I believe this is an area and community I can see myself enjoying!
About myself. Grew up working on houses and building fences with my father and brother, it was tough at times being so young but honestly loved it and consider myself a handyman now. Got a taste for Real Estate investing when my parents bought a property in Las Vegas when I was a teenager which sparked my interest. Fast forward a few years, graduated from MIT with a degree in mechanical engineering and now working a 9-5 engineering job which I enjoy but something in me has always wanted to go into Real Estate.
Now I am looking for a way in! I am great with numbers and I am also not afraid to get my hands dirty doing some renovation. I am looking to buy and rent property and also try my hand in some flips. I am hoping to do this in the Western United States so I can keep it close to home and be as involved as possible but I know CA might not be the easiest place to start.
Any suggestions on how and where to start would be much appreciated! Also anyone looking to connect please message me!

@Alejandro Garcia Welcome to BP! I'm also from CA (San Diego) and have started looking at out of state investing because it's so hard to get cash flowing properties here in CA. Personally, I am looking at Memphis, but there are a lot of great markets out there! Good luck!
