Houston, TX, Newbie Introduction

Samuel Demler
Posted

Greetings BP community,

My name is Samuel, I am new to REI and this website and figured I would introduce myself. I am targeting the Houston, TX / Harris County market area. I am currently reading every book I can and am just at the beginning stages of this, but I do know that I want to turn it into a full time career for myself. Looking at all angles of the business. What does everyone think the best area is to get their feet wet on a first deal? Additionally, if anyone has any must reads or must see learning material please leave links or information. Pleasure to meet everyone and look forward to chatting with you all in the future!

Hello Samuel,  I am an investor in the Houston area also.

My recommendation to you would be to start going to networking events.  There is one in Houston just about every day - often more than one!

You can find them by doing a search in Eventbrite and Meetups.  My suggestion for the most educational value and the lowest cost is the Houston RENC (google will give you the information for this one), and the WEALTH club.  Also Quest Trust events are free.  If you want to go to their Expo coming up in August, message me and I can give you a promo code to get a good discount on your ticket.
