New to Real Estate and my first seller encounter
I'm a wholesaler new to real estate. I was going to post a "standard" new comer intro, but decided to just jump in. I have spent the last month or so speaking to realtors, other wholesalers, listening to podcast, and watching lots of youtube. That's a lot of information, but one point that was consistent is; don't over analyze it, just get started.
So, after driving through neighborhoods on my way home a few days ago using the landglide app, I found my first potential property. The house looked vacant and the owner's address was next door. I pulled up any additional information I could find on the county website and started to pump myself up to make a move. After sitting in my truck for about 5 minutes I finally got out and walked across the yard to the owner's home. I knocked on the door and as my nerves started to get the best of me, someone answered.
I spent about 5 minutes speaking with the owner about the property, but she wasn't interested in selling. She is planning to give the property to her daughter. I apologized for taking up her time, but left a card with her and asked if she would contact me things changed. I got back in my truck and did a happy dance. The property wasn't for sale, but I had taken that first step and it wasn't as bad as I had thought. It took me an additional hour to get home because I was looking for every possible opportunity on the way.
I know I just blurted all over this post and not sure the admins are going to allow it here, but I'm excited. Let me know what you guys think about my first seller encounter. Advice for next time? I love feedback
