Beginner from Lincoln, NE

Hello all,

My name is Michael and I am a beginning real estate investor living in Lincoln, NE. I work full time as a turfgrass researcher (think lawn grass and golf course grass) but have long had an interest in real estate investing. Not until recently had I put forth effort into researching and learning about REI. While I was searching for books to learn about REI, I stumbled upon BP and quickly joined as member. Since joining I've read blog and forum posts regularly but just now finally decided to heed Josh Dorkin and Brandon Turner's advice from the podcast to interact within BP.

I am looking to start investing by purchasing a small multi-family rental to househack. While living in the househack, I hope to be able to provide myself some "on the ground" training in landlording, and allow myself to build systems to grow my business. At the moment I am primarily interested in buy and hold SFR and MFR, but from listening to the podcast I have enjoyed learning about all the different opportunities REI can entail. I am looking forward to continue my education, taking action and interacting with investors both here on BP and locally.
